Edna St. Vincent Millay

So, the first week of September I fractured my ankle and was on crutches for six weeks. The next month I was in a boot and using a cane. Using the crutches made my hands swell up and I couldn't use a pen through October. This little comic was intended to be something like a warm-up exercise, and it took me three weeks to get this done.

Well, wahhh. That aside, hopefully it'll be easier to get back on schedule.

This poem, the sonnet "What lips my lips have kissed, and where, and why...," is one of my favorites. I include it whenever I teach an intro to literature class, and this time a student discussion led to this idea. It's strange how, despite being the first woman to win the Pulitzer for poetry, she's now descended to somewhat of a lower tier of poets, in terms of how she's regarded. I recently picked up a play by her - she was an accomplished playwright as well, evidently.
